Founded in 2017 by a small group of scholars, LLIDS promotes Open Access research in a demographic where there are but a handful of Open Access ventures. In a context where scholars are in the process of getting introduced to the potential of OA, LLIDS has come up as a promising academic journal which has found support not only within the Indian sub-continent, but globally. This is reflected in the research published in the journal which, as of September 2021, has published 16 Issues so far with 98 research articles by scholars from 20 different countries (72 Institutions) worldwide that is inclusive of:
