Founded in 2017 by a small group of scholars, LLIDS promotes Open Access research in a demographic where there are but a handful of Open Access ventures. In a context where scholars are in the process of getting introduced to the potential of OA, LLIDS has come up as a promising academic journal which has found support not only within the Indian sub-continent, but globally. This is reflected in the research published in the journal which, as of March 2026, has published 152 research articles by scholars from 23 different countries (110 Institutions) worldwide.
