Vision and Mission

E.L.A. Project (Education and Liberal Arts Project) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization which facilitates resource generation and distribution for research scholars and students working in the fields of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies. It is an endeavour initiated in the light of the need to re-structure the current educational scenario. We work to enhance the quality of education by focusing upon cultivating educated perspectives by providing research mentorship to scholars along with other resources as well as by creating a learning environment that is enriching with a view to make our students or future-holders efficient, empowered, and empathetic. With the vision of free and quality education to all, we aim to contribute, cultivate, and promote better standards of scholarship in academia and better standard of life in society.

We have conceived E.L.A. Project with a mind to introduce an OA platform—free from financial barriers—for scholars whether they be researchers, students, authors, or readers. An added challenge, which we became aware of through our work, is the gap between higher education curriculums and the standards of research as expected by the academic community all over the world. It leads to a fork where we either work with only well-established scholars, who are already working to create and establish these standards through their research, or we can address the lack thereof. We have chosen to give priority to address this lack—even while engaging with established scholars—by working with young scholars and helping them work towards rigorous standards of research. In effect the challenge facing us can be summarized in three points –

  • To create an awareness of OA, where it is needed, while engaging with a global audience.
  • To address the varied standards of scholarship due to gaps and disparities in the diverse education systems.
  • To create a sustainable OA model in keeping with the laws and legal infrastructure of India and resources available there.
